4-1/2″ x 7/8″ T29 Flap Disc for Aluminum with Stearate Coating are manufactured using European zirconia cloth. The European material is superior due to its uniform particle size and premium blend of ingredients. These discs exceed our other flap discs by packing 40% more abrasives on each snippet than our regular density discs. In addition, all discs are manufactured on computer-controlled machines and subject to numerous tests which ensure high quality and greater safety.

These flap discs excel on soft metals like aluminum. They don’t gum up like a regular zirconia or aluminum flap disc. The stearate coating, which gives the flap disc its silver color, will liquefy under heat and provide a protective coat on the flaps that prevent loading/gumming up on soft metals.

This deburring flap disc is made from aluminum oxide grains which easily enable the sanding disc for a powerful, abrasive cut on carbon and steel applications. These flap disc wheels are coarser to easily remove heavier stock making the surface smooth and finished. It cleans up the welds or removes blemishes from any metal.

Safety Tips & Techniques:

• For less stock removal try using a lighter touch or a feathered approach to your grinding.  Flap discs are like grinding wheels with power steering!
• Always wear proper PPE to include (but not limited to) safety glasses, hearing protection, respirator, and hand protection.  Keep all guards in place on your machine.
